A wall in the Birchview B&B

I started couch surfing since I was in New Foundland, n hitch hiking as well, because there is simply no public traffic, and expensive and full accomodation, and I have a travel mate.

At the end because of Newfoundlanders' generosity, I find hitch hike andcouch surfing very safe, and make the trip more fun n special.

I will not try hitch hike myself, I know the risk.

anne-marie, my new foundland travel mate and I went hiking in the national park called Gros Morne (meaning big mountain). Gros Morne comprises of many different mountains, and we chose this 4 hours hike trail called Green Garden.

the destination is a beautiful rocky beach with steep cliffs. Jelly fishes, sea gulls, shell animals and beautiful stones around. It was supposed to be another hitch hike trip to go to the starting point of the Green Garden, but a friend of our last couch surfing host is around there, so...we ended up hike with him again, with his car..! We really have to be grateful to his generosity, and we spent a super funny day together, at the end finding out we are all scorpio.

new foundland is a fish island, cod, lobster, scallops, oysters, salmon are all local gourmet. japanese people are smart, they will come all the way to buy mackerel and caplin (small fishes where whales love most).

After cousulting few local people, I bought a fresh local lobster at supermarket. the stall keeper is a friendly blue eyed man, when asked what is the best way to cook them, he said, just steam or boil it with some salt.

And so I tasted my best ever lobster! No garlic butter, no lemon, no cheese, no chicken stock, just salt and water. I just can't be a vegetarian...

"have you brought snacks? no? then i will eat my fingers"

a 6 year old kid said this to his mum playfully, and pretending to eat his own fingers, when they entered the coffee house. some replies from his mum, some boylaughs. i was thinking he is a spoiled child. after a while, i think it over, i found him not only not a spoiled kid, but a bright kid. for he has already solving his own problem, no snack->disappointed->blame parents->yell/cry didnot happen on him, he accepted and thought of alternative solution
